Inside the Studio

Our Design Process

Every 9 to Wine piece begins with a single question:

How will this feel in real life?

Design in the studio is fabric-first and function-aware. We allow material to lead the process- its weight, movement, and structure informing silhouette rather than forcing form.

Our focus remains precise:

  • Silhouettes that sit naturally on the body, without restriction
  • Construction that supports movement and wearability
  • Details that elevate quietly, never overpowering the piece

Each style is developed through fittings, real-wear testing, and multiple rounds of refinement. Pieces are edited until they move seamlessly across hours, settings, and moods.

Nothing is added without purpose.

Fabric Story

Fabric is the starting point of every collection.

In the studio, we spend time understanding how a fabric behaves, how it drapes, stretches, holds, softens, and settles with wear. We prioritise materials that feel considered on the skin while maintaining structure and longevity.

Our selections lean toward:

  • Fluid fabrics that move with the body
  • Structured textiles that retain shape without stiffness
  • Surfaces that feel refined, tactile, and lived-in

We choose fabrics not just for appearance, but for how they perform across a day, how they respond to movement, temperature, and time. The goal is balance: comfort without compromise, elegance without effort.

Sustainability & Responsibility

Responsibility begins at the design stage.

We work in controlled quantities, focusing on quality over volume and longevity over trend cycles. Fabrics and styles are chosen with repeat wear in mind, pieces designed to stay relevant, adaptable, and valued over time.

As the brand grows, we remain committed to evolving responsibly, making choices that respect people, process, and product.
